I'm currently taking a Women's Studies class at the University of Houston, and for our class activism project, we were asked to pick any topic centered on women's studies issues. The topic I found most intriguing is; "How women view their bodies (Body Image)."
I chose this topic because majority of the women I know complain about their bodies. Most young girls and women are never satisfied with their body Image. A good number of women end up suffering from eating disorders while trying to fit the "perfect body" image.
As I start this journey, I hope to enlighten all women reading on the myths of beauty. We as women should encourage each other to embrace and love ourselves, and with a bit of luck, every woman reading this will see herself as Beautiful. This blog will also be an interactive site where women and teenagers can share their stories or comments about this concern eating up our society. Please take a few minutes to watch the Dove Evolution video below.

I think that is a very important issue amongst us girls and it is something we need to work on. Self satisfaction is the top most priority in life.

Thanks LebMarie and I agree we as women need to achieve self satisfaction because we often complain about our bodies.

i love the little saying on the picture. i think its important to love yourself no matter how you look but at the same time take care of yourself because we could harm ourselves by trying to have the "perfect" body image but on the other hand we cant live long being couch potatoes and eating bad food all day.

Yes Sandra I do agree we do need to take care of ourselves..and find a balance of eating more healthy and exercising. I will put up future post on eating disorders and hope we can make healthier choices
